I am Tuhin Dey, PhD student in Material Science Engineering and Commercialization (MSEC) Program at Texas State University. I have started the PhD program in Spring 2018 and current research field is Group IV Photonics specifically ‘Germanium‘ based semiconductor laser with Highly Mismatched Alloy (e.g. Carbon & Tin). Prior coming to Texas State University, I worked for four years as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electrical Engineering (EEE) at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, Bangladesh.

I completed graduation in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and Masters in Telecommunication in the year of 2011 and 2013 respectively from Bangladesh. I got the opportunity to do my second Masters degree in Molecular Nano and BioPhotonics for Telecommunication and Biotechnologies (MONABIPHOT) under the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship 2017. I have completed one semester in this program but unfortunately, I had to leave the program and return to home country for a family emergency.
I born in a small hill country city in Bangladesh named Sylhet, therefore, I never lost myself among mountains. I like to travel so always tries to fit as many holidays as possible into my hectic schedules and so far I have travelled to France, Thailand, Nepal, New York, New Mexico, Arizona.
